MSA Team UK 48hr Military Toughness Event

- 2011-02-20

I wasn't sure what to expect from the MSA Team UK 48hour Military Toughness Event because it was going to be totally different from the previous Team UK Military Event that I took part in because it was in August in lovely sunny summer weather 26C and only for 24hours.

So for sure it was going to be a lot different in the first week in February and for 48hours but I knew that I had to be careful and take caution as I couldn’t afford to get ill and the fact that i was testing the following week.

The Event itself started on Thursday 10th February at 9pm and finished on Saturday 12th February 9pm, ten of the MSA Team UK drivers started on Thursday night. Throughout the 48hours we learnt many different things, such as map reading, navigating, using guns and weapons, make a fire, Military drills and exercises but the main thing was that we were all pushed outside of are comfort zones, got wet, tired and were unprepared for what was in head or approaching us.

Only three Team UK drivers completed the Total 48hours out of the ten who started the event, so I was happy to be in the final three. Also I feel that this Team UK Military Toughness Event has been great for me as a person to find out how far I can really push myself mentally and physically and also it was a good experience to be able to use guns and learn how to read and navigate maps. I feel that I have learnt many things for this 48hour Event and it has been worth while doing as it has taught me more about myself and it will help me throughout my racing career.
